Burning Can Beer Fest + Lyons Outd...
Burning Can Beer Fest + Lyons Outdoor Games 5K...
Denver Citywide
If childhood road trip sing-alongs taught us anything, it's that bottles of beer can be pretty tedious. Can the boring old glass and pop the top on an afternoon of running, sunning, and shotgunning: entry to the Lyons Outdoor Games 5K fun run on an outdoor course near Boulder, followed by entry into the Oskar Blues Burning Can Beer Fest -- an outdoor party celebrating craft beer in cans with music, food, and Rocky Mountain revelry courtesy of Lyons Outdoor Games and Human Movement.
Start by trickling into Bohn Park in Lyon, Colorado, on the morning of Saturday, June 1, where your can-loving crew will be waiting to help check you in. Next, head out on the 5K, a fun run in the park where all kinds of folks -- from parents with strollers, to people with their dogs, to hardcore runners -- are encouraged to hit the course at their own pace. When you crossed the finish line, kick back with a few cold ones at the Oskar Blues Burning Can Beer Fest , celebrating local brewers who offer their goods in cans. Between 4 and 7 p.m., sample unlimited beers from 25 Colorado craft breweries, all in a souvenir tasting glass that's ours to take home at the end of the day. There's also great food -- plus a cooler full of fun activities, including kayaking, biking, fly-fishing, live music, and a dirt jump competition.
