You've always wanted a bird's eye view of Sacramento, but climbing to the top of the State Capitol for a visual snapshot is likely out of the question. Scale new heights without risking a rap sheet with this fly Adventure: a tandem skydive followed by a boxed lunch.

We'll meet at 1020 Airport Road in Lincoln where our team will be waiting alongside the air divers of Sky Dive Sacramento. After an abbreviated tutorial on the safety rules and procedures at the airport hangar, we'll get harnessed up in our gear, bus over to the aircraft, and split into groups. Each person will be paired with an air diver instructor, tandem-style. From there, each group will board a plane, which will promptly ascend 12,000 feet into the firmament. Once we've reached jumping height, we'll throw ourselves out of the aircraft and free fall through clear, open air, reaching up to 120 MPH before our instructor pulls the lever to expand our parachute. The canopy flight gives us gorgeous views of the Sacramento Valley, and we'll be secure in the company of the tandem instructors, who all have roughly 2,000 jumps under their belts and are USPA-rated.

Following our terminal velocity drop from the heavens, we'll shake off those shakes and amble toward a boxed lunch that includes a veggie or turkey sandwich, side salad, piece of fruit, cookie, and a soda or water, all catered by the regional gastro heavyweight Awful Annie's. As we nosh, we'll get the chance to chat with our fellow high flyers and take pride in being among the few who have truly seen Sacramento from above.
