You made a splash while tubing on the river this summer, but with these temps, your ears grow icicles at the mere thought of lallygagging down a slow-moving stream. Put on your long johns and extra derriere padding for this Adventure: a night of snow tubing at Bear Creek Mountain Resort with drinks, dinner, and round-trip transportation from downtown Philly.

We'll meet at John F. Kennedy Boulevard and North 30th Street where our coach bus will be idling alongside our totally tubular team of hilltop daredevils. After a 90-minute ride we'll arrive at Bear Creek and receive a brief safety tutorial along with our mammoth rubber tubes and a food and drink voucher to be used at a later time. For the next three hours, we'll propel ourselves down the meticulously conditioned hills—reserved exclusively for our group—on our giant tubes, stopping only to take a breath to laugh at the sight of our fellow Adventurers desperately trying not to wipeout.

Our meal voucher can be traded in at any point during the three-hour tubing session, and we'll have the choice of veggie wraps, tacos, pulled pork sammies, and other delights, with an accompanying side of fries, onion rings, and pierogis, or various desserts at the resort. Sodas and waters will keep us hydrated and hot chocolate, tea, and coffee will keep us warm. And, after we've finished conquering the mountain, we'll have one drink ticket to use on wine, beer, or well drink as we stretch out the rest of the night at a pub party. Tuckered out, we'll jump back on the bus and head back to Philly satisfied that we've filled our seasonal tubing quota.
